What Is Moonpay?
Moonpay is a fiat-to-crypto payment service that allows you to purchase cryptocurrency using traditional payment methods such as credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. It acts as a bridge between the traditional financial system and the blockchain, so you can go from dollars (or your local currency) to USDC in just a few minutes.
The key advantage of Moonpay is simplicity. You do not need to create an account on a cryptocurrency exchange, learn how to navigate a trading interface, or manage a separate wallet. You simply pay with your card, specify a destination address, and Moonpay sends the cryptocurrency directly to that address on the blockchain.
Moonpay is a licensed and regulated financial services provider, operating in over 160 countries. It is widely used across the crypto industry and integrated into many major wallets and platforms.
How It Works with GPUnex
The process is straightforward: you copy your USDC deposit address from your GPUnex Wallet page, go to Moonpay, purchase USDC on the Solana network, and paste your GPUnex deposit address as the destination. Moonpay then sends the USDC directly to your GPUnex account on the Solana blockchain.
This means you can fund your GPUnex account with a credit card without needing a crypto wallet or exchange account at all. The USDC goes straight from Moonpay to your GPUnex deposit address.
Here is the flow at a high level:
- Get your deposit address from GPUnex.
- Buy USDC on Moonpay using your card.
- Moonpay sends USDC to your GPUnex deposit address.
- Sync your GPUnex wallet to see the updated balance.

Step-by-Step Guide
Follow these steps to purchase USDC with your credit card via Moonpay and have it deposited directly into your GPUnex account.
Step 1: Copy Your GPUnex Deposit Address
-
Log in to your GPUnex account.
-
Navigate to your Wallet page.
-
Look for the Manual Deposit section.
-
You will see your USDC deposit address displayed as a long string of characters (your Solana wallet address), along with a QR code. For example:

Important
The address shown above is a DEMO address for illustration purposes only. Do NOT send any funds to this address! Always use your own personal deposit address from your GPUnex Wallet page.
- Click the Copy button next to the address to copy it to your clipboard. Alternatively, you can scan the QR code later if you are using a mobile device.
Important: This is the address where your purchased USDC will be sent. Make sure you copy it correctly. A single wrong character will cause the funds to go to a different address, and crypto transactions cannot be reversed.

Step 2: Go to Moonpay
Open a new browser tab and navigate to moonpay.com/buy/usdc. This will take you directly to Moonpay’s purchase page for USDC.
If the link takes you to a general page, look for the option to buy USDC from the main interface.
Step 3: Enter the Purchase Amount
Enter the amount of USDC you want to buy, denominated in your local currency (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.). The minimum purchase amount is approximately $20 (this may vary slightly depending on your payment method and region).
Moonpay will show you the amount of USDC you will receive after fees are deducted. Review this before proceeding.

Make sure to select USDC on the Solana network — not Ethereum, Polygon, or any other network. USDC sent on the wrong network will not arrive in your GPUnex account.
Step 4: Select USDC on Solana
This is a critical step. Moonpay supports USDC on multiple blockchain networks, and you must choose the correct one.
- Select USDC as the cryptocurrency.
- When prompted to choose a network, select Solana.
- Do NOT select Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, or any other network. GPUnex operates on Solana, and USDC sent on other networks will not arrive in your GPUnex account.
If the interface does not explicitly ask you to choose a network, look for a label or dropdown near the cryptocurrency name that indicates the network. It may appear as “USDC (SOL)”, “USDC (Solana)”, or “USDC-SPL”.
Step 5: Paste Your GPUnex Deposit Address
In the destination wallet address or recipient address field, paste the deposit address you copied from GPUnex in Step 1.
After pasting, verify the address carefully:
- Check that the first 4-6 characters match your original address.
- Check that the last 4-6 characters match your original address.
- Make sure no extra spaces were added before or after the address.
Step 6: Choose Your Payment Method
Moonpay offers several payment options:
- Credit Card — Visa, Mastercard, and other major card networks are accepted.
- Debit Card — Works the same as a credit card for this purpose.
- Apple Pay — Available on Safari and iOS devices.
- Google Pay — Available on Chrome and Android devices.
Select your preferred method and enter your card details or authenticate via Apple Pay / Google Pay. If you have used Moonpay before, your saved payment method may appear.
Step 7: Complete Identity Verification (First Time Only)
If this is your first purchase on Moonpay, you will need to complete a brief identity verification process. This is a one-time requirement mandated by financial regulations.
- Upload a government-issued ID — Passport, driver’s license, or national ID card. Take a clear photo or upload a scan.
- Take a selfie — Moonpay will ask you to take a live photo to match against your ID.
- Wait for approval — Verification is typically completed within a few minutes, though it can take up to 10 minutes during peak times.
Once your identity is verified, you will not need to repeat this step for future purchases.
Tip
Moonpay KYC verification is a one-time process that takes just a few minutes. After your first purchase, future transactions skip this step entirely.
Step 8: Confirm and Pay
Review your order summary one final time:
- Amount — The quantity of USDC you are purchasing.
- Network — Confirm it says Solana.
- Destination address — Confirm it matches your GPUnex deposit address.
- Total charge — The amount that will be charged to your card, including fees.
Click Buy Now or Confirm to complete the payment.
Step 9: Sync Your GPUnex Wallet
After Moonpay processes your payment and broadcasts the transaction on the Solana blockchain (typically within a few minutes):
- Return to your GPUnex Wallet page.
- Click the Sync button to refresh your balance.
- Your USDC deposit should now be reflected in your GPUnex balance.
If the balance does not update immediately, wait a few minutes and click Sync again. Card payments are usually delivered within 2-5 minutes. In rare cases, it may take up to 15 minutes.
Note
After Moonpay sends the USDC, return to your GPUnex Wallet page and click Sync to see your updated balance. Card payments typically arrive within 2-5 minutes.
Fees and Processing Time
Moonpay charges fees based on the payment method you use:
Credit / Debit Card
Fastest option. USDC arrives in 2-5 minutes after payment.
- ~4.5% transaction fee
- 2-5 minute delivery
- Visa, Mastercard accepted
Apple / Google Pay
Quick mobile payment. Same speed and fees as card payments.
- ~4.5% transaction fee
- 2-5 minute delivery
- iOS & Android supported
Bank Transfer
Lowest fees but slower processing. Best for larger purchases.
- ~1% transaction fee
- 1-3 business days
- SEPA / ACH supported
- Minimum fee: $3.99 per transaction (or equivalent in your local currency). If the calculated percentage fee is less than $3.99, you will be charged $3.99 instead.
- Exchange rate: Moonpay uses market rates with a small spread. The exact amount of USDC you receive is shown before you confirm the purchase.
- Network fees: Solana network fees are negligible (fractions of a cent) and are included in the transaction.
Example: If you buy $100 of USDC with a credit card, the fee would be approximately $4.50, and you would receive roughly $95.50 in USDC (exact amount depends on current rates and spreads).
For larger purchases, bank transfers offer a significantly lower fee (around 1%) but require 1-3 business days for delivery.
Tips
Here are some practical tips to make your Moonpay purchase as smooth as possible:
-
Always select the Solana network. This cannot be stressed enough. If you accidentally purchase USDC on Ethereum or another network, the funds will not appear in your GPUnex account. Recovering funds sent to the wrong network is complicated and may not always be possible.
-
KYC verification is a one-time process. After your first purchase, subsequent purchases on Moonpay will skip the identity verification step, making future transactions much faster.
-
Subsequent purchases are faster. Once your card and identity are saved, buying USDC through Moonpay takes under a minute. Just enter the amount, confirm the address, and pay.
-
Start with a small amount to test. If this is your first time using Moonpay or depositing to GPUnex, buy a small amount first (e.g., $20-25). Verify that the USDC arrives in your GPUnex wallet before purchasing a larger amount.
-
Check your card’s international transaction policy. Some banks classify crypto purchases as international transactions or cash advances, which may incur additional fees from your bank. If in doubt, contact your card issuer beforehand.
-
Keep your transaction receipt. Moonpay sends a confirmation email with transaction details. Save this for your records in case you need to reference it later.
-
If the purchase fails, common reasons include: card issuer blocking the transaction (contact your bank), insufficient funds, or incorrect card details. Try a different payment method or contact Moonpay support at support.moonpay.com.
