What Is a Crypto Wallet?
A crypto wallet is a piece of software that allows you to store, send, and receive cryptocurrency. Think of it like a digital bank account — except you are in full control of your funds, and no bank or institution can freeze or access your money without your permission.
How Wallets Work (Simplified)
Every crypto wallet has two key components:
- Public Key (Wallet Address) — This is like your account number. You share it with others so they can send cryptocurrency to you. It is safe to share publicly. On Solana, a wallet address looks something like:
7xKXtg2CW87d97TXJSDpbD5jBkheTqA83TZRuJosgAsU - Private Key — This is like the password to your bank account. It proves ownership of your wallet and authorizes transactions. Never share your private key with anyone. If someone has your private key, they have full control over your funds.
In practice, most wallet apps manage your private key behind the scenes. You interact with a seed phrase (also called a recovery phrase) — a series of 12 or 24 words that can be used to restore your wallet on any device.
Why You Need a Wallet for GPUnex
GPUnex is a GPU compute marketplace that uses USDC on the Solana blockchain as its primary currency. To deposit funds into your GPUnex account, you need a way to hold and send USDC. A Solana-compatible crypto wallet gives you that capability. You can also use GPUnex’s Wallet Sync feature to connect your wallet directly to the platform.
Recommended Wallets
GPUnex supports wallets on the Solana blockchain. We recommend the following two wallets, both of which are Solana-native and integrate with GPUnex’s Wallet Sync feature.
Phantom
The most popular Solana wallet with a clean interface and excellent reliability.
- Browser extension + mobile app
- Solana-native
- GPUnex Wallet Sync compatible
- Beginner-friendly design
Solflare
A well-established Solana wallet with advanced security features and full ecosystem support.
- Browser extension + mobile app

- Advanced staking features
Phantom
Phantom is the most popular Solana wallet, known for its clean interface and reliability.
Installing Phantom as a browser extension:
- Go to phantom.app.
- Click Download and select your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge).
- You will be redirected to your browser’s extension store. Click Add to Browser or Install.
- Once installed, the Phantom icon will appear in your browser toolbar.
- Click the icon and select Create a new wallet.
- Set a password for the extension. This password is used to unlock Phantom on your computer — it is not the same as your seed phrase.
- Write down your seed phrase. Phantom will display a 12-word recovery phrase. Write it down on paper and store it in a secure location. Do not save it digitally (no screenshots, no notes apps, no cloud storage). This phrase is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access.
- Confirm your seed phrase by entering the requested words.
- Your wallet is ready.
Installing Phantom on mobile:
- Download the Phantom app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Open the app and select Create a new wallet.
- Follow the same seed phrase backup process described above.
- Set up biometric authentication (Face ID / fingerprint) for convenient and secure access.
Solflare
Solflare is another well-established Solana wallet with strong security features and full support for Solana’s ecosystem.
Installing Solflare as a browser extension:
- Go to solflare.com.
- Click Download and choose the browser extension option.
- Install the extension from your browser’s extension store.
- Click the Solflare icon in your toolbar and select Create a new wallet.
- Choose Solana as the network.
- Write down your seed phrase (12 or 24 words, depending on your selection). Store it securely offline.
- Set an extension password.
- Your wallet is ready.
Installing Solflare on mobile:
- Download Solflare from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Open the app and follow the wallet creation steps, including the seed phrase backup.
Seed Phrase Security
Your seed phrase is the master key to your wallet. If someone obtains your seed phrase, they can steal all of your funds. Follow these rules:
- Write it on paper and store it in a physically secure location (a safe, a locked drawer, etc.).
- Never enter your seed phrase on a website unless you are restoring your wallet in the official Phantom or Solflare app.
- Never share it with anyone — no legitimate service, including GPUnex, will ever ask for your seed phrase.
- Do not store it digitally — not in a text file, not in an email, not in a screenshot, not in cloud notes.
- Consider using a metal backup plate for long-term storage, as paper can be damaged by water or fire.
Buying USDC
USDC (USD Coin) is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar. It is the primary currency used on GPUnex for renting GPU compute, paying for services, and receiving provider payouts. One USDC is always worth approximately one US Dollar.
To buy USDC, you will use a cryptocurrency exchange. Here is how:

Download Phantom or Solflare for your browser or mobile
Create Wallet & Save Seed
Generate your wallet and securely store the seed phrase
Buy USDC on Exchange
Purchase USDC on Coinbase, Binance, or Kraken
Send USDC to Your Wallet

Withdraw USDC on the Solana network to your wallet
Step 1: Create an Account on a Crypto Exchange
Sign up for an account on one of these major exchanges:
- Coinbase — coinbase.com — Popular in the US, beginner-friendly.
- Binance — binance.com — Largest exchange globally, wide range of options.
- Kraken — kraken.com — Strong security reputation, available in many countries.
Tip
Recommended exchanges for buying USDC: Coinbase (US, beginner-friendly), Binance (global, widest selection), and Kraken (strong security, many countries).
During registration, you will need to:
- Provide your email and set a password.
- Complete identity verification (KYC) by uploading a government-issued ID. This is standard for all regulated exchanges.
- Link a payment method (credit card, debit card, or bank account).
Step 2: Buy USDC
- Log in to your exchange account.
- Navigate to the Buy or Trade section.
- Search for USDC.
- Enter the amount you want to purchase (in USD or your local currency).
- Select your payment method:
- Credit/debit card — Faster but typically has higher fees (around 2-4%).
- Bank transfer (ACH/SEPA) — Lower fees but may take 1-3 business days to complete.
- Review the order details and confirm the purchase.
Critical: Make sure you are buying USDC on the Solana network. Some exchanges allow you to choose the network at the time of purchase. If not, you can select the network when you withdraw (next step).
Step 3: Verify Your Purchase
After the transaction completes, check your exchange wallet balance. You should see the USDC credited to your account. Note that bank transfers may take a few days to settle before the funds are available for withdrawal.
Transferring USDC to Your Wallet
Now that you own USDC on an exchange, you need to transfer it to your Phantom or Solflare wallet so you can deposit it into GPUnex.
Step-by-Step Transfer
-
Copy your wallet address. Open Phantom or Solflare, and copy your Solana wallet address. In Phantom, click on your wallet name at the top to copy the address. In Solflare, click the copy icon next to your address.
-
Go to the exchange’s withdrawal page. In your exchange account, navigate to Withdraw, Send, or Transfer (the exact label varies by exchange). Select USDC as the asset.
-
Paste your wallet address. In the destination or recipient field, paste the wallet address you copied from Phantom or Solflare.
-
Select the Solana network. This step is critical. You will be asked to choose a network for the transfer. Common options include:
- Solana (SPL) — Select this one.
- Ethereum (ERC-20) — Do NOT select this.
- Other networks — Do NOT select these.
If you send USDC on the wrong network (e.g., Ethereum instead of Solana), the funds will not arrive in your wallet and may be very difficult or impossible to recover.
-
Enter the amount. Specify how much USDC you want to transfer.
-
Review all details carefully. Double-check:
- The destination wallet address matches your Phantom/Solflare address.
- The network is set to Solana.
- The amount is correct.
-
Confirm the withdrawal. The exchange may ask you to confirm via email or 2FA. Complete the confirmation.
-
Wait for the transaction to complete. Solana transactions are fast — typically under 30 seconds. Your USDC should appear in your Phantom or Solflare wallet within a minute or two.
Important Warnings
Before you send any cryptocurrency, review these essential safety guidelines:
Important
Always use the Solana network when sending USDC. Sending on the wrong network (Ethereum, Polygon, etc.) will result in permanently lost funds that cannot be recovered.
-
Always use the Solana network. GPUnex operates on Solana. Sending USDC via Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, or any other network will result in the funds not arriving and potentially being lost permanently. When in doubt, look for the labels “Solana”, “SOL”, or “SPL” when selecting the network.
-
Never share your seed phrase. No legitimate service — including GPUnex, Phantom, Solflare, or any exchange — will ever ask for your seed phrase. If anyone requests it, it is a scam.
-
Double-check wallet addresses. Crypto transactions are irreversible. If you send funds to the wrong address, there is no way to reverse the transaction. Always verify the first and last several characters of the address before confirming.
-
Start with a small test transaction. If this is your first time transferring crypto, send a small amount first (e.g., $5-10 of USDC) to make sure everything works correctly. Once you confirm the test amount arrived, you can send the full amount.
-
Keep some SOL for transaction fees. Solana transactions require a tiny amount of SOL (the native token of the Solana blockchain) to pay for network fees, typically less than $0.01 per transaction. Make sure your wallet has a small balance of SOL. You can buy SOL on the same exchange where you purchased USDC.
-
Bookmark official sites. Always access Phantom, Solflare, your exchange, and GPUnex by typing the URL directly or using bookmarks. Never click wallet or exchange links from emails, ads, or social media — these are common phishing vectors.
Depositing Funds into GPUnex
Before you can purchase GPU packages or interact with the GPUnex marketplace, you need to deposit funds into your account. GPUnex operates on USDC (USD Coin) on the Solana blockchain, giving you fast transactions with minimal fees. Below are all deposit methods available.
Deposit Methods Overview
GPUnex offers three distinct ways to fund your account. Choose the method that best fits your situation:
Wallet Sync
Transfer USDC directly from your Phantom or Solflare wallet. The fastest deposit method.
- Near-instant (seconds)
- USDC on Solana only
- Phantom or Solflare required
200+ Cryptocurrencies
Pay with BTC, ETH, SOL, DOGE, or any of 200+ coins. Auto-converted to USDC.
- 5-30 min processing
- Any crypto accepted
- No wallet connection needed
Manual Transfer
Send USDC directly to your GPUnex deposit address from any Solana wallet.
- 1-2 min after sync

The entire process typically completes in under 10 seconds thanks to Solana’s fast finality.
Troubleshooting Wallet Sync
- Transaction not appearing in wallet popup: Ensure your wallet extension is unlocked and that pop-ups are not blocked by your browser.
- Insufficient balance error: Verify you have enough USDC on the Solana network (not on Ethereum or another chain) and a small amount of SOL for the transaction fee (approximately 0.000005 SOL).
- Transaction failed: Check that your wallet is connected to the Solana mainnet, not devnet or testnet.
Method 2: 200+ Cryptocurrencies
If you do not hold USDC on Solana but have other cryptocurrencies, this method lets you deposit using virtually any major digital asset. GPUnex will automatically convert your chosen currency into USDC and credit it to your account.
Supported Currencies
Popular options include:
- BTC (Bitcoin)
- ETH (Ethereum)
- LTC (Litecoin)
- USDT (Tether)
- SOL (Solana)
- DOGE (Dogecoin)
- And 200+ additional cryptocurrencies
Note
Popular deposit currencies include BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT, SOL, and DOGE — plus 200+ more. All currencies are automatically converted to USDC at the current exchange rate.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Navigate to the Wallet page in your GPUnex dashboard.
-
Click “Deposit” to open the deposit interface.
-
Enter the USDC amount you want to receive in your GPUnex account. This is the target amount after conversion.
-
Select your payment currency from the dropdown menu. You can scroll through the list or use the search bar to find your preferred cryptocurrency.
-
Click “Create Payment” to generate your deposit request. The system will calculate the equivalent amount in your selected currency based on the current exchange rate.
-
Copy the payment address displayed on the screen. A QR code is also provided for convenience — you can scan it directly from a mobile wallet.
-
Send the exact amount of the selected cryptocurrency to the provided address from any exchange or external wallet. It is critical to send the correct amount on the correct network.
-
Monitor the transaction status on the GPUnex deposit screen. The system polls for updates every 5 seconds automatically. You will see the following status progression:
- Waiting — The system is waiting to detect your incoming transaction on the blockchain
- Confirming — Your transaction has been detected and is awaiting the required number of network confirmations
- Sending — The conversion to USDC is being processed
- Finished — USDC has been credited to your GPUnex account

Important Notes for This Method
- Exchange rates are locked at the time you create the payment. Complete your transfer promptly to avoid rate expiration.
- Confirmation times vary by blockchain. Bitcoin may take 10-30 minutes, while Solana or Litecoin are typically faster.
- No wallet connection required. You can send from any exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, etc.) or any personal wallet.
- Network fees on the sending blockchain are paid by you. These are standard network fees and are not charged by GPUnex.
- Do not send a different amount than what is displayed. Sending too little or too much may cause delays or require manual support intervention.
Method 3: Manual Transfer
If you already hold USDC on the Solana network and prefer not to use Wallet Sync (for example, if you are sending from a hardware wallet or a multisig), you can send USDC directly to your personal GPUnex deposit address.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Navigate to the Wallet page in your GPUnex dashboard.
-
Locate your deposit address. Your unique GPUnex deposit address is displayed on the Wallet page. This is a standard Solana wallet address.
-
Copy the address by clicking the copy button next to it. Alternatively, scan the QR code displayed alongside the address using a mobile wallet.
-
Open your external wallet (hardware wallet, exchange, or any Solana-compatible wallet application).
-
Send USDC (SPL) to the copied address. Double-check the following before confirming:
- You are sending USDC, not a different token
- You are sending on the Solana network, not Ethereum or another chain
- The destination address matches your GPUnex deposit address exactly
-
Return to GPUnex after the transaction has been submitted.
-
Click the “Sync” button on the Wallet page. This triggers GPUnex to scan for new incoming deposits to your address. The system will detect and credit your deposit.
When to Use Manual Transfer
- You are sending from a hardware wallet (Ledger, Trezor) that may not support direct Wallet Sync
- You are transferring from a centralized exchange that supports Solana USDC withdrawals
- You prefer to manage transactions outside the GPUnex interface
- You are using a multisig wallet or institutional custody solution
Checking Your Balance
After your deposit completes through any of the three methods, your GPUnex account balance updates automatically.
Viewing Your Balance
- Your current USDC balance is prominently displayed at the top of the Wallet page and on your Dashboard.
- The balance reflects all deposits, withdrawals, package purchases, and claimed earnings.
Transaction History
All deposit transactions are recorded in your Transaction History, accessible from the Wallet page. You can use the available filters to view specific transaction types:
- All — Every transaction on your account
- Deposits — Only incoming fund deposits
- Withdrawals — Only outgoing withdrawals
- Purchases — GPU package purchases
- Claims — Earnings claimed from active packages
- Commissions — Referral commission payments
Each transaction entry displays:
- Date and time of the transaction
- Transaction type badge (color-coded for quick identification)
- Description with relevant details
- Amount in USDC (green for inflows, red for outflows)
The transaction history is paginated for easy navigation through your complete account activity.
Next Steps
Once your account is funded, you are ready to explore the GPUnex marketplace:
- How GPU Packages Work — Learn about GPU package tiers and start earning daily revenue
- Withdrawing Your Earnings — Understand how to withdraw your funds when needed
